Hi, I'm Christie!
I’m the Creative behind Chronicles of a Creative. I'm a neurodivergent, chronically ill, creative Gen X’er. I started this blog as a tool to channel my creativity with purpose. I’ll be sharing stories, tips, techniques and even some struggles I face in my creative pursuits.
A bit about me:
At the age of 42, with the support of my steadfast husband, I left my job as a Mortgage Underwriter to pursue a formal education in the Creative Arts. In 2020 I graduated with distinction from the University of the Fraser Valley's Graphic and Digital Design Diploma program. Since then I have been providing freelance design and photography services to businesses professionals and organizations.
Whether through photography, sketching, painting, fibre arts or sewing I engage in a daily creative practice and at times I struggle to do so. I battle Crohn's disease which impacts my creative output by affecting my energy levels, physical capability and overall mood. Getting out of the house can be difficult and some days are better than others. Thankfully my case is mild, but I still experience daily symptoms that impact my quality of life
Don't worry. I don't take myself too seriously, so I'll try to keep my blog posts light. What I really want to share here is what I've learned technically, personally and professionally.
I know how inspired I am by other creatives stories and perhaps one of my posts might inspire you to create, maybe you'll learn something new or you might just simply relate. I look forward to this blogging journey and welcome you to send me suggestions on things you might like to read about by filling in the below contact form.

Warmly,
